I've Run Out Of Creative Ideas For Titles For These Damn Posts.

I wasn't crazy-hungry today because I stayed mindful of how my body was feeling. I ate snacks when I needed them and went on a walk for a little over an hour.
Breakfast: One fried egg, half of a large potato's worth of home fries (cooked in a skillet with garlic, a tiny bit of oil, cayenne pepper, and chilli powder) mixed with onion
Snack: Hazelnut biscotti coffee
Snack: Apple
Lunch: Grilled cheese sandwich (two slices of high-fiber bread and two slices of FF cheese)
Snack: Quesadilla (Mission Low-carb flour tortilla and 1 oz regular shredded cheese) and a bag of 94% FF popcorn. I swear I don't eat a whole bag of popcorn on my own every day ^_~
Dinner 2: 2 cups of my honey's potato corn chowder - made with fake meat, onions, potatoes, corn, and cream of chicken soup (and a lot of water)
Snack: Sugar-Free Fat-Free Chocolate Fudge pudding and some Cool Whip Free

Reflecting on today, I definitely needed to add more veggies and/or fruits to my meals. I coulda had a V8 ^_~ Just kidding, V8's are gross. Seriously.

It was nice not to be pushing myself really hard during my walk today. It had kind of gotten to the point where I wouldn't really notice what was going on around me when I took my walks outside (as opposed to on my treadmill) and I would be so focused on the stopwatch that I didn't really enjoy it. Today I stopped to smell the roses, so to speak, and enjoyed myself much more.

I was happy that I didn't go into my weeklies today; on the contrary, I found it quite difficult to eat all my dailies. That's certainly a welcome change from the norm. Hopefully I can keep the trend going through the week!

  1. :-) I had to chuckle at your title. I struggle with this a bit. For a long while I just titled my posts the corresponding day of my program (i.e. Day 323). A bit dull, but no thinking involved. :-)

  2. Jess, even when runners train for races, they don't run all the same pace all the time. One of my favorite runs in marathon training is called the Long Slow Distance. The idea of that run is to build your endurance. After a week's worth of fast runs and speedwork, those runs are so enjoyable. I'd say do the same with your walks - do some at speed, some to smell the roses.
