I gained a pound this week - no shock there for two reasons.
1. I didn't track most of this week.
2. I went back to exercising in the afternoons and *SURPRISE!* I missed three days.
And how do I plan on remedying this? This is my second gain in a row, and I'll be damned if I go back to my up-down-up-down routine. Plus I don't want to be giving Vern footrubs at the beginning of next year.
1. Track! And track ahead of time. Today I will track my meals for the entire week. I have never, ever done this before - and I will be getting in my good health guidelines every single day. End of story. My wedding isn't getting any farther away, and I'm not getting any younger.
2. Back to waking up early and exercising. It's as simple as that. I have a treadmill, so I'll be utilizing it in the mornings and Vern (the sweetie he is) claims he doesn't mind me gettin' on the old hamster wheel first thing in the morning. I should mention that the hamster wheel is in our bedroom and we cannot put it anywhere else in the house.
I think tracking the whole week ahead of time is going to be the difference-maker right there. When I know what's on the menu, I'm not looking around for something to put in my mouth. You don't make the best eating decisions when you're starving and staring at your fridge wondering, "What should I eat?"
One more thing - I have little motivational quotes all over my house, and they've been there for a few months. I think it's time to change those out and a) put up new quotes and b) put up some notes in relation to my new challenge - Photos of a relaxing spa, the list of crap I'll have to do if I don't succeed in my challenge (hitting 185.0 lbs by Dec 31 2009).
Off to pre-plan my week's meals. I would say "wish me luck" but I am so confident in my ability to succeed that I don't feel I need it. Make it a great day!

I would tell you to not let this get you down in the dumps, but you are so not letting that happen. I'm guessing there is no way you are giving foot rubs come January!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you're on the right track! It happens to the best of us.
ReplyDeleteIt's so easy to skip exercise once the day gets busy. For me it's worth getting up earlier and just getting it done!
ReplyDeleteI also have to get up and get it done otherwise too many other things interfere. It's just so easy to get off track despite our best intentions. Glad to see you still have a positive attitude and are ready to tackle a new week!
